The Maccabees – “Feel To Follow”

I really don’t know much about The Maccabees, but so far what I’ve heard is pretty good.

I first heard them on Zane Lowe’s BBC Radio 1 program when he premiered their song Pelican. I instantly fell in love with the song and Orlando Weeks voice. I took some time and listened to a bit of their previous album Wall Of Arms and was pleasantly surprised. I can’t wait to hear the new album Given To The Wild which is coming out in January. Lana Del Rey Posts New Song ‘Off To The Races’

Lana Del Rey is shaping up to be the breakout star of 2012. With all of the internet hype and the talent to back it up, 2012 is going to be the year of Lana Del Rey. After the success of Video Games and Born To Die, Off To The Races is poised to gain her more buzz and fans.

The video has already gained over 200,000 views on youtube. This song is so fantastic. It’s a little bit different then Video Games Or Born To Die but just as amazing. Off To The Races shows that Lana is capable of more than just ballads.

Although Jamie XX said that their new material has been influenced by club music, i don’t really hear it on this demo. I think this demo sticks to what the xx do best, which is very creepy and dark indie music. What do you think of the new demo?

The Vaccines – No Hope

Finally somebody put up video from The Vaccines UK tour.They have been playing three new songs on the tour Tiger Blood, Teenage Icon and No Hope. I am already in love with Tiger Blood, but was curious what the two others sound like. I haven’t found good video of Teenage Icon, but I have found this beautiful piece of video on you tube. It sounds great per usual with The Vaccines. I am hoping for some North America touring from these guys since the last one was derailed because of Justin’s vocal issues.

New Music: Lana Del Rey – Born To Die

From Pitchfork to NME everyone has been touting Lana Del Rey as the next big thing in music.
With most of these hyped artists their fall from grace is just as fast as their rise. But it seems like Lana Del Rey isn’t just an over hyped artist. She is the real deal. And after watching this video of her performing new song Born To Die i think that you will be convinced.

She has an amazing voice and the songs to match. I’m really excited for her debut to come out and can’t wait for what else Lana throws our way.

Mumford & Sons Unveil New Material At NSSN

Mumford & Sons played an amazing set last night at NSSN, which included two new songs.

They played “Lover Of The Light” and an untitled new song. The crowd responded well to both. But Little Lion Man and set closer The Cave had the whole arena jumping and singing along. Here is a video of Roll Away Your Stone Performed at NSSN.

Bush At NSSN 2011

Bush electrified the crowd at NSSNBush had the crowd rocking at NSSN. They played an energetic set with a variety of new and old material. One of the highlights of the set was a cover of The Beatles Come Together.

BBC Sound Of 2012 Long List Announced

The BBC sound of .. poll has tipped artists like The Vaccines, Ellie Goulding and Mumford & Sons. Here are some of the artists that stood out to me.

Dry The River

Really good folk music with a little bit of an edge. Interesting to see them on the list that was particularly hip hop heavy.

Niki & The Dove

One of the better nominees on the list. Kind of sounds like a mix of Oh Land and Florence+ The Machine.

Friends

Probably my favorite on the list. I heard some of their stuff on XMU and i have loved all of it. They seem to be the most promising off the list.
